Utilization Review is a process to determine if ICF/IID services are of the quality and cost to meet professionally recognized standards of health care for recipients.
Florida’s Agency for Persons’ with Disabilities will notify Acentra Health of an individual’s admission to an ICF/IID. Acentra's administrative team will contact the facility to confirm admission and then schedule the utilization review to occur on-site. Continued Stay Review is an assessment to the appropriateness of continuing ICF/IID services. Acentra's statewide team of clinical professionals conduct these reviews every six months to make sure it continues to be appropriate for the person to reside in the ICF/IID.
Acentra's administrative team will request necessary documents/records and complete the reviews. The Acentra Clinical Reviewer will complete the Utilization Review, Continued Stay Review, and Level of Reimbursement forms online. Results will be faxed but can also be found on the provider portal. Any adverse determination will be followed with the opportunity to receive/review additional information and hearing rights.
